Editorial standards

Show the math. Name the source. Admit the limit.

LeaseWorth publishes financial education and calculation tools for car shoppers. This policy explains how those pages are produced, what can influence them, and how mistakes are corrected.

Our editorial principles

  1. Complete cost beats monthly-payment theater. A low payment is never evaluated without the term and cash due.
  2. Unsupported means unknown. We do not guess a lender buy rate, local tax, vehicle value, eligibility rule, or contract term.
  3. Primary sources come first. Federal and state agencies, statutes, regulations, and official lender documents outrank summaries and forum claims.
  4. Examples are labeled. Worked examples explain the math; they are not current offers or predictions of what a dealer must quote.
  5. Dealers are not the enemy. Reasonable disclosed profit and consumer clarity can coexist.

Who writes and edits the site

Guides are published by LeaseWorth Editorial under the direction of creator Michael Dube. His automotive-retail perspective informs which worksheet details matter in a real dealership conversation. Andromeda Kinship LLC operates and publishes the site. Learn more on the About page.

Source hierarchy

1. Controlling or official materialStatutes, regulations, tax departments, CFPB, FTC, and official lessor program documents.
2. Technical validationPublished formulas, model disclosures, contract language, and independently re-derived worked examples.
3. Context onlyIndustry publications and shopper discussions may identify questions, but do not establish a rate, law, or program term.

Calculation review

Calculator logic is separated from page copy and covered by automated tests. The effective-cost engine checks quoted-payment and full-workbook paths, state tax methods, money-factor conversion, drive-off cash, mileage exposure, multiple security deposits, trade equity, and deal comparison behavior. The public methodology explains the central formulas in shopper language.

Dates, freshness, and legal or tax changes

Guides show a last-reviewed date. State tax pages also show the date of their source record. A date means the cited material was checked as of that date; it does not guarantee that a government or lender has not changed something afterward. Local tax and contract-specific questions are explicitly left for the relevant authority or lessor.

Advertising and commercial independence

Display advertising is visually and technically separate from editorial output. An advertiser cannot buy a verdict, alter a formula, rank a dealer, or receive a user's lease inputs. LeaseWorth currently has no dealer lead-sale arrangement. Any future sponsorship, affiliate link, or commercial relationship will be labeled beside the affected material.

Corrections

Send a possible error to [email protected] with the page URL, disputed statement, and a source if available. Do not send personal or credit information. Material corrections are made in the page itself and its review date is advanced; calculation defects also receive a regression test before release.

What LeaseWorth does not provide

LeaseWorth is not a dealer, lender, broker, appraiser, attorney, tax adviser, or financial adviser. Results are educational estimates based on user-provided figures. The signed contract and the lessor's written instructions control the actual transaction.
